Happy to announce that two of my cover designs wer Happy to announce that two of my cover designs were selected as semi-finalists for this year’s Realm Awards! (Swipe to see the full designs.) Daughter of Light remains one of my all-time favorite designs. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to re-cover the series for Enclave Publishing, and it’s since opened the doors for many more exciting projects. Wave of Disruption pushed me into new territory, encouraging me to take the plunge into better stock photography and try some out-of-the-box thinking. It directly influenced how I approach cover design, and gave me the confidence to try more ambitious projects. Congrats to the other eight entries in the Cover Design category, and the rest of the semi-finalists across the board!
Happy to reveal the cover for @lyndseylewellen’s n Happy to reveal the cover for @lyndseylewellen’s new time travel fantasy, KARABOS! I really enjoyed designing this one—the vertical title was a gamble, but I love how it fell right down the center of the scarab, and I thought it had a slight Egyptian hieroglyphic look to it, which of course lends itself well to the plot of the novel. I also love the font for this one… it’s equal parts sci-fi and ancient civilization, which works so well for this series. KARABOS releases in October from @enclavepublishing, but you can preorder the hardback now through Amazon or directly on Enclave’s website (20% discount). ABOUT THE NOVEL: When sixteen-year-old homeschooled entomologist Winslet Nubek enters the elite, insect-hunting Tournament of Scarabs to save her family from ruin, she expects danger and magic bugs. Not time travel. Paired with a resentful cartographer, Rafe, who doubts her every move, Winslet accidentally triggers a forbidden time scarab and launches them both into volatile jumps through an ancient world. As they struggle to hide their condition and stay in the competition, their time slips reveal buried truths about the scarabs—and the lies their glittering society is built on. With sinister forces closing in, Winslet and Rafe must capture legendary insects and expose the truth before the past bleeds into the present and destroys them both. #karabos #enclavepublishing #lyndseylewellen #yafantastybooks #timetravelbooks
I had the wonderful opportunity to speak to the jo I had the wonderful opportunity to speak to the journalism and graphic design students at Patrick Henry College this week! We talked about the science of book design, philosophy of freelancing, and how to launch your career in the cover industry. Quite a few of my author friends received shoutouts because I like examples (the students learned that Amish Vampires in Space is a real book, and it’s the only time you can get away with putting vampires on the cover of an Amish fiction). We had a lot of fun analyzing different examples, studying previous versions, and comparing them with new editions. The whole thing was a blast, and I would absolutely do this again in a heartbeat! Special thanks to the fantastic Gabrielle, who not only sneaked photos for my mom, but was also the one who pulled this thing together and made it happen!
You all have NO concept of how hyped I am for this You all have NO concept of how hyped I am for this movie… This is the most excited I’ve been all year, NO CONTEST. Project Hail Mary is a phenomenal book, and after I read it, I hooked my brother, my mom, my other brother, my sister in law—and the unofficial book club has just grown from there. This movie is shaping up to be my new favorite film ever ohmyword it is time gooooo #projecthailmaryfanart #ryangosling #bestmovieever
COVER REVEAL!! Very happy to share the cover for COVER REVEAL!! Very happy to share the cover for THE LOST VISIONIST by @kendigronie, which is Book 1 of the Helios Requiem trilogy. Isn't the cover art excellentttt???

The Lost Visionist will make its debut on Kickstarter with a Deluxe Limited Edition version (loving those sprayed edges). Want to get one? Then FOLLOW the campaign now (pledging comes later) by signing into your Kickstarter account (or make one—it’s free), then select “Notify me on launch” next to Ronie’s campaign header. When the campaign goes live Kickstarter will notify you! 🚀 About the book: Theseus Helstaar kills rogue visionists—those who violate the sacred territory of the mind by reading and manipulating memories. When he abandons a mission to save his fragile sister, he lands in the mercy of the Imperial Syndicate, which forces him to find the Lost Visionist—the most powerful delver to have ever existed—or everything he loves will be destroyed. #roniekendig #tinyliteraryvisits #thelostvisionist #heliosrequiem #indieauthor
Maelle is probably one of the best written video g Maelle is probably one of the best written video game characters we’ve seen in years. Seriously, if you don’t know this game, drop everything and go play it (or, at the very least, find the cutscenes on YouTube because it’s just that good). It’s a true skill when a game can make you bust out laughing and then break your heart all within the same story. Not to mention the stunning art direction, acting, and top tier soundtrack. Expedition 33 really puts AAA games to shame, even more so because the studio started as ex-Ubisoft employees who were sick of the bureaucracy in the game industry. If this game doesn’t win Game of the Year, there’ll be a riot. #expedition33 #maelle
Expedition 33 is the best game of 2025, and Maelle Expedition 33 is the best game of 2025, and Maelle is my current favorite redhead. (She also deserves better. Someone give this girl a hug….) Oh, and look…Jenneth is changing her art style again. #clairobscur #expedition33 #maelle #verso
I had the wonderful opportunity to design @maripos I had the wonderful opportunity to design @mariposa.aristeo’s new novel, Sons of Day & Night, releasing in November from @enclavepublishing! This is a YA retelling of The Prince and the Pauper, so I wanted to reflect the theme in a mirrored design. The swirls and jungle leaves are symmetrical, and you could flip the artwork upside down and get the same design, only flipped colors. This was a ton of fun to work on, and from the excerpt I read during the design process, Sons of Day & Night is going to be a phenomenal story that I’m really excited to own. 🌟 Sons of Day & Night is available TODAY for preorder from Amazon, as well as the Enclave direct store (which offers 20% off). ☀️ ABOUT THE BOOK: 🌙 In the wild and lush kingdom of Twinsbane, everyone has a look-alike, and each twin is cursed to die when their double breathes their last. When an ancient plague arises, the kingdom’s only cure is a legendary potion called the Separator that the tyrannical King Daccias refuses to relinquish. Waruu, a determined orphan and the king’s doppelgänger, sets out to save the kingdom by switching places with the royal pain. But if anyone learns Waruu’s true identity, he’ll lose everything—including the people he’s desperately trying to protect. #enclaveescape #mariposaaristeo #enclavepublishing #sonsofdayandnight #chroniclesoftwinsbane #retellings #theprinceandthepauper #classicsretold
✨BIG SURPRISE! I gave @morganlbusse’s Follower of ✨BIG SURPRISE! I gave @morganlbusse’s Follower of the Word series a redesign! What do you think?? Daughter of Light was Morgan’s debut novel and one of @enclavepublishing’s early publications, and now the fresh new designs are available in paperback format. ✨IMPORTANT: Due to a few copies of the older edition remaining in the supply chain, the only way to guarantee you get the new cover is to order direct from enclavepublishingstore.com. More details on Enclave’s post. Big thanks to Enclave and Morgan for trusting me with this massive project. I had a lot of fun. 📚For those of you who are just discovering Morgan’s series for the first time, here’s the description for Book One: What if with one touch you could see inside the soul? Rowen Mar finds a strange mark on her hand, and she is banished from her village as a witch. She covers the mark with a leather glove and seeks sanctuary in the White City. She lives in fear that if she touches another person, the power inside her will trigger again, a terrifying power that allows her to see the darkness inside the human heart . . . But the mark is a summons, and those called cannot hide forever. For the salvation of her people lies within her hand. #coverreveal #coverredesign #yafantasy #morganlbusse #enclavepublishing
