Eighteen-year-old River Ardis lives in a future where terrorists infiltrate the country as teenagers. She tries her best to keep her head down and away from the unrest until she meets a distraught girl from the 1990s. But little do either of them know, the oppressive government has been hunting the time traveler for years—and anyone associated with her.

I began writing my time travel dystopian trilogy when I was fourteen, and it’s since undergone extensive edits for the past ten years. While I intend to pursue a traditional publishing house, which would be responsible for cover designs, I wanted to design my own cover and layout for a class project.

The titles are based off the acronym for the main antagonists in the series, a corrupt government entity called the Rebellion Extermination Division that hunts down its political enemies. Each book features one of my three protagonists, and each features a symbol and background that relates to that book’s plot. (For example, the first book’s symbol is a red circle with a dot in the center. In the series, characters refer to it as the RED Eye, the logo of the Division and a reminder that Big Brother is always watching. The background is a chainlink fence, which is featured in a prominent part of the plot.)

I designed all three covers, and even did the interior layout of the first book using one of my many, many drafts. I got a double A on this project (two separate grades).
